Independence Day Parade Float

Hello everyone!

The parade is almost here! Tomorrow is the fourth of July parade, and I need anyone and everyone who is willing to walk to come out and join us! We are pulling a small trailer that has been transformed into the ‘Boomerang Express’, and we will walk along with the float and pass out the flyers to the people sitting and watching. We have four hundred flyers so we need lots of help! This is such a great way to get our word out and to put a invitation in each hand!

We will be lining up on the road across from Laconia Electric (right across from the covered bridge on Washington street) at 1:30. The parade is at 2:00, so we have some time to line up and get ready. Our theme is Australian outback, so grab khakis, your Vacation Bible School shirt, safari looking hats, anything looking like your gonna go wrestle an alligator!

I am very excited and hope to see you all there!

Please pray for our VBS program, for the parade, and for every child and adult working in VBS and who may attend VBS!

Please call me with any questions: home 447-6898, cell 662-7377

Men of Women of Faith

It’s that time of year again when the women of our church head off to their Women of Faith convention, and the men and children they leave behind get together to fellowship!

This year the Men of Women of Faith party will be held at Matt & Michele Gagnon’s house on Stark Road in Conway. They will have games for the kids to play, including baseball, croquet, badminton, horseshoes, frisbee, four-wheeler rides, mini-golf, and maybe more.

100_2637Food will be provided; the provisional menu including perennial barbeque favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, pasta salad, and some token vegetables. Come prepared to have fun!

Day: Saturday, June 13th. Time: 1 to whenever. Where: Gagnon house, 709 Stark Road, Conway NH (1.5 miles south on the left on Stark Road, blue cape with 2 car garage, balloons will be on the mailbox, across the street from Maple Manor).

Teaching Position Needs

Currently we have many opportunities for people to assist in the education of our young children at Valley Christian Church. Please be in prayer for all of these openings and let me know if your heart has been touched to serve in any of these opportunities.

Substitute Coordinator: In an effort to have consistency within classrooms and to help me out, the elders have agreed to open this assisting position. This person would be in charge of finding and coordinating substitute teachers for Sunday School, Junior Church and Pioneer Clubs. This person should be available also on most Sundays and Wednesday evenings in the case of an emergency need to fill in.

Sunday School: We have a need for a teacher & assistant for the 5th grade class for July & August. This is a very small class (3-4 kids). All classroom materials and curriculum are provided.

Junior Church: As we move around teachers within our ministries, we will have openings for teachers and assistants for both classes, PreK/K and Grades 1 & 2. Teachers and assistants work as a team on a rotation schedule for 2 weeks and then have 6 weeks off. Age appropriate curriculum is provided.

Vacation Bible School: We have many positions available from classroom teachers and assistants, recreation leaders, nursery workers and snack coordinators. VBS is July 19-23 6-8:30 pm

Pioneer Clubs: Pioneer Clubs will be coming back to VCC in October. Please be in prayer now if you are being called to serve in this ministry on Wed. evenings 6-7:30 pm.

If you are willing to work in any of these, please let me know.

God bless,
Heather Woodward
