This wonderful evening of praise and prayer for America is being held at the Guilford High School auditorium on Thursday evening, May 1st at 7 p.m. If anyone is interested in going, please let Heather Clement know and we can look at carpooling. I know that it’s a weeknight, which makes it tough, but trust me… it will be worth the sacrifice should you choose to attend!

Even if you are not able to attend on Thursday, please remember to join the millions in prayer for our nation. For more information, visit www.nationaldayofprayer.org.

UPDATE: For those not going to “One Voice ” Day of praise and prayer in Gilford,
Valley Christian Church will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. if you would like to come and pray at the church. Maybe you could arrange to meet others at a specific time and pray as a group.

We are not able to hold an evening time of prayer as Thursday nights are are dedicated to Most Excellent Way and we do not want to interfere with God’s work in this ministry.

Topics include: Biblical basis for parenting teaching obedience, loving without words, teaching God’s Word, not spoiling the child, when trust is broken, the message behind anger, and talking sex with your kids. Spring Quarter Adult Sunday School

Two new classes are starting!

Discipleship: Growing in the Learning, Applying, and Teaching of the Lord, Jesus Christ

Becoming a Christian is only the start. Jesus also calls us to maturity (Ephesians 4:13) and to be fruitful (John 15:16). Yet we all struggle in this area. Discipleship should not be a mystery or feel impossible (Matthew 11:28-30).

The course objectives include:

  • Increase our understanding of the process of disclipleship
  • Sharpen our skills and abilities in learning, applying, and teaching about our Lord, Jesus Christ
  • Increase our effectiveness in discipleship, through obedience, intentionality, and mutual support and prayer
  • A review of the resources available to the disciple
  • Increase mastery in handling God’s Word with an introduction to inductive bible study methods
  • Understand God’s purpose for “fellowship” in the context of discipleship
  • Get acquainted with 1-to-1 discipling (simple discipleship any two people can do together)

Why: Come, and grow in the knowledge of the Lord (2 Peter 3:18)

When: 8:45 a.m. Sunday mornings, beginning April 27th

Where: Rear meeting room (behind the kitchen)

Who: with Bill Kugel

A. Understand Faith and Works: Putting Your Faith Into Action

Join with others in studying God’s word. Two topics are covered. First, a detailed study into God’s Word regarding faith and works. Join us as we explore our faith and how to put our faith into action.

B. Put on the Full Armor of God: God’s Provisions for Standing Firm in the Faith

While this study will touch on many scriptures, it will take an in-depth look into Ephesians 6:10-20. Reap the rewards of those who understand the answer to the question: What is spiritual armor and what role does it play in our Christian walk?
