Vacation Bible School 2008: Aloha! Surf’s up at Outrigger Island
Believe it or not, we are only 2 months away from this year’s Vacation Bible School! It is always an exciting and rewarding time in our church body as we reach out to our community and offer Jesus. As with each year, we are expecting a record number of children! Last year we had about 100 every night. That means we need to be prepared. Incredibly I have already had people volunteer to help out.
But we are still in need! We need teachers and assistants in Bible Study Classes from 2-3 year olds through 5th grade. We need people to run the rec tents, be in charge of snacks, work in nursery, clean the church daily, participate in the worship team, to name a few. If God has laid it on your heart to be a part of this mission, please let me know your interests as soon as possible. I have the materials for you to preview or take on to begin studying.

Aloha! Surf’s up at Outrigger Island where kids will learn to know, speak, and live God’s truth. Based on Psalm 86:11, this tropical adventure will help kids develop the stability they need to become unshakeable in a world of shifting sands.

Care Net Pregnancy Center Volunteer Training
Care Net Pregnancy Center is holding a 2 day volunteer training on Saturday, May 31 and Saturday, June 7. Anyone at VCC interested in being a part of this mission is urged to attend.
The training will be held at the White Mountain Chapel from 9 to 4 on both days. The cost is $22 for the manual and registration forms will be on the missions table by May 7. Please sign up by May 23.

Yardwork and Cleaning Outreach Day
The Yardwork/Cleaning Outreach Day is being moved to Saturday, May 24. The more people who volunteer to help, the more of an outreach this can be. We realize this is a holiday weekend and people may be out of town, but there were no other dates. For those who cannot physically help, prayers are asked for. If you know of someone (within our church or not) who has a need, please let Marc Johnson or Austin Woodward know.
Don’t Forget Your Secret Sister This Mother’s Day!
Just a friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is this Sunday. Don’t forget you secret sister on this special day. It doesn’t have to be a gift, a card of encouragement or a written prayer that you have prayed for her would be fine. It’s the remembrance of the day and your acknowledgement of it for her.

Choir Rehearsal May 5, 2008
As we head into the weekend, I wanted to send out a reminder that choir will be gathering for the first time since the Easter Cantata THIS SUNDAY (5/4) after church! Bring a bag lunch and join us as we continue to make a joyful noise to the Lord!
The next two choir rehearsals will be 5/18 and 6/1. Please remember that there are no requirements for joining the choir. It doesn’t matter if you’ve ever sung with us before or not… or if you know anything about music or not… if the Lord has put it in your heart to worship Him in this way, we’d love to have you! He is looking for willing hearts, Amen? 
So far we’ve not had any volunteers for childcare yet, so unless I hear from someone before Sunday, please make arrangements for your children.
