FOOD BASKET DONATIONS . . . . In main entrance
The children of VCC are collecting donations to put together 1 or 2 “Christmas Baskets” to bring to needy families. This was their idea. To help them in their efforts please bring any donations you might want and place them in the boxes at the main entrance. The items they are collecting include:
potatoes squash stuffing biscuits/rolls pies cranberry sauce gravy
olives turkey cookies
Homeless Mission trip to Portland, ME 11/13/11
We will be heading to Portland after service on Sunday November 13th, 2011. If you haven’t been with us yet, this would be a great time. We are still in need of snack items and cold weather items to be donated. We need things like long johns (tops and bottoms), scarves, blankets, quilts, sweaters and any food item that does not need a can opener. If you are able to donate please bring these items before November 13 to the church. The best time would be before service on Sunday mornings. Service starts at 10 AM
Women’s Retreat November 4th and 5th
Hello Ladies,
Well retreat is about a month away.
We have about 15- 20 ladies coming. Praise GOD. As always bring a friend.
Several sisters have asked what is the theme of the Retreat. It is called Sweet Life Cafe. No, not based on (almost) everyone’s favorite coffee. But on bread. Through these devotions/ studies we will see that Jesus is the bread of life. ( and I know we know this but it is good to revisit this message.) Just to be nourished by Him and share with each other.
Some of us may find God’s word sweet, others savory, and still others spicy. Come and share with your sisters.
Prayerfully we will find rest, laughter, share story, and grow closer to each other.
July 4th Parade in Conway
VCC marched in the 4th of July parade to help tell the town about our VBS coming up July 17th through the 21st. Here are some pictures:

Vacation Bible School July 17-21, 2011
Join us this year for Vacation Bible School. We are going to the Big Apple this year. Spend 5 days in New York without leaving town! When can you go on this tour? July 17-21, 2011 from 6:00-7:30 PM. All ages are welcome from infant to adult. This great vacation will happen at Valley Christian Church. See you there!
Men’s Breakfast June 11, 2011
We had a great time on Saturday morning June 11, 2011. We watched a video by the Sketch Guys that generated quite a bit of conversation. Of course breakfast was delicious. Thanks to Rick for all his hard work

New women’s study starting May 23, 2011: Understanding Purpose
Starting this Monday we will be having a Bible study.
The topic is Understanding Purpose. It will run for about 12 weeks. Each week will have a separate topic so you can jump in anywhere.
Prayerfully we will catch a glimpse of the depth of God’s love for us and will embrace the true purpose of every woman …to love God with all we have and allow that love to overflow to others.

The conference last week was excellent. This week we will be looking further at the life of Abram. We will look more at who Melchizedek is and why he is important. See you at the church at 6:30 Monday night.
