Praise in the Park a Great Success

We had a great turnout for Praise in the Park! Thank you all for your support in this wonderful ministry: the evangelism tent, the food booth, the sound and video technicians, everyone who helped set up tents, Crossfire Youth, Pastor Tim, the Worship band, and One Less Lost, and last but most important, Jesus! Did I miss anyone? I hope and pray not! If I did, my sincere apologies.

God Bless You All,
Matt

Portland Homeless Mission May 17 2009

Dear Family,

This Sunday is the homeless mission to Portland. Though we have a lot of people going we are lacking in tote bags and things to fill the totes with. Please consider donating even one item. If each family donated just one small item (which price averages $2.00 at Wal-Mart) we would have well over 100 items to put in the bags. Would you please consider picking up something from the list below and dropping it at the church no later than Friday night. The youth will be taking all the items with them. And if you already have given thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts.

Here’s what we still need:

  • Granola bars
  • Cereal bars
  • Snacks
  • Pudding cups
  • Fruit cups
  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Bottled water
  • Cookies in small packages
  • Peanut butter crackers in small packages
  • Prepackage tuna & crackers
  • Or any small snack packages.

Thank you for all your donations, God bless you all,

Candy and Mark Allen

College/Career Bible Study Starting Up

This is an invitation to anyone interested in a College/Career Bible Study. This ministry is geared toward young career-minded adults who want to remain personally connected to God, build life-long friendships, and find a place to minister.

Our goal is to build a community of young adults (ages 19-29) that come together from different churches around the area to chase after God’s direction and encouragement for their lives.

Jesus states in John 10:10 – The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

As stated: Jesus provides abundant life. This abundant life begins with your salvation and does speak of the promise of eternal life. However, the abundance of life begins here and now with abundant blessings, Jesus calls His followers, not to be dour, be lifeless, or have an existence that squashes human potential, but He promises a rich, full, joyful life, one overflowing with meaningful activities under the personal favor and blessing of God as He is in continual fellowship with His people.

If this is the type of group that you are interested in, call me or my wife, Kim, at 356-3366. Our first meeting will be Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 6:30 pm. This is a start up meeting for this group. We will get together at my residence. Please call for directions.

Keep the faith,

Nathan Zipf

Men’s Basketball Monday Nights

Dear VCC Men,

Men’s basketball will be happening this next Monday (Jan 19th), at 6PM at the Conway Rec Center. This is a weekly time to get together, have fun, have fellowship, and get your heart-rate up. All basketball abilities welcome!

Make sure to bring your Bible, because at half-time there will be a short devotional.

Please also bring $4 to go towards the rental of the gymnasium, and invite a friend! (Friends get to play for free.)
