We will be taking this week off to attend the VBS adult classes. This week, August 16th 2010.

When we return on August 23rd 2010 we will be in chapter 10 of the book of Revelation.

This year the Men’s Retreat is in Chatham, Maine again. The date is Friday, October 2, 2009, from 6pm – Sunday, October 4th. The last time we went to the AMC camp we had a great time of spiritual enrichment, fun, and brotherly camaraderie. Come join us!

The Test of Knowing Him

1 John 2:3-6

• Can others see Jesus in us?
• Do we have His servant’s heart?
• Are we obedient as He was obedient?
• Do we walk as He walked (1 John 2:6)

The Holy Spirit has laid on my heart this: To walk as He walked, we must first know how He walked. We can find this out first through His word in personal study time. We can also learn through others and what He has laid on their hearts. So please come and see what God will do through the speakers or possibly another brother in Christ.

Schedule of Events

• Friday 5:30-6:30 pm Fellowship
• 6:30 pm dinner
• 7:00 pm guest speaker followed by games and more fellowship. Come and be taught by our very own pastor how to play Stupid (a Russian card game).
• Saturday morning breakfast followed by more time of fellowship and group discussion.
• Noon: lunch
• 1:00 Guest speaker
• 3:00 Clean up and go home

Here are a few upcoming events to mark on your calendars! Saturday, March 14: Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 8am followed by a carpooling trip to Cabela’s in Scarborough, Maine. Friday, March 27 & Saturday, March 28: Men’s Retreat at Bob & Judy G’s. Plan to come for all or part as we fellowship, delve into God’s Word and encourage each other as brothers in Christ. Time: Leaving Valley Christian Church at 5:30 pm Friday night.

Returning: Sometime early Saturday morning.

Cost: Approximately $20 per person (for camp and bait) plus gas towards car pooling.

Dear VCC Men,

Men’s basketball will be happening this next Monday (Jan 19th), at 6PM at the Conway Rec Center. This is a weekly time to get together, have fun, have fellowship, and get your heart-rate up. All basketball abilities welcome!

Make sure to bring your Bible, because at half-time there will be a short devotional.

Please also bring $4 to go towards the rental of the gymnasium, and invite a friend! (Friends get to play for free.)

This ministry is here to help further God’s kingdom through the Holy Spirit’s leading by helping men grow in a closer relationship with Jesus. As men we are commanded by His word to be the leaders of our homes and His church. To do this all we need to do is be obedient and answer His calling.

There are many ways to be fed at VCC, from Sunday Service to Monday Night Men’s Study, Wednesday Night Pioneer Club Adult Study, Men’s Breakfasts, retreats and on and on.
