SUNDAY FEBRUARY 19TH CONTINUING OUR SERIES “OPENING DOORS”

This Sunday we’ll be sharing from God’s Word about the power of words … how they can build up… and how they can tear down. Words can be used to make a relationship better yet by the same token, a word can destroy a relationship. Words can help create dreams, bring encouragement, strengthen character, and ease wounds. Words can of course, have just the opposite effect on every one of these aforementioned situations. It’s a matter of communication.

Sunday, we will be going to the greatest expert in communication, Jesus Christ. He knew how to communicate and use words in a powerful effective and yet loving and compassionate & way. Join us Sunday morning as once again we go to the Word of God for some eternal wisdom.

THIS SUNDAY /February 12th/ Continuing Our Series “OPENING DOORS”

This Sunday we’ll be sharing from God’s word about Marriages & Relationships . . .

“Opening Doors In your Marriage.”

The Bible has a lot to say about relationships and everything we talk about Sunday, can be applied to you in your context with significant relationships. Join us Sunday morning as once again we go to the Word of God for some eternal wisdom.

THIS SUNDAY /February 5th/ Continuing Our Series “OPENING DOORS”

Instead of speaking about “Opening Doors In your Marriage” as I stated last week; I have decided to save that message for the 12th in deference to our Valentines Celebration. So this week I want to share a message pertaining to ANGER . . . I’ve called it “Opening Doors Through Conflict.” Sound  strange? How can God work with anger that comes into our lives to strengthen relationships? Join us Sunday morning as once again we go to the Word of God for some eternal wisdom.

THIS SUNDAY /January 29th/ “OPENING DOORS”

The most important relationship we have in our lives is the one that Jesus died on a cross to restore, that is our relationship with God. Jesus essentially opened the door to give us access to Heaven . . . eternity with God.
God brings many people into our lives and from those intersections in our lives, we develop friendships, acquaintances and other various relationships. The Bible tells us that, if you’ve got your relationship with God in order and your relationship with other people in order, you are doing what God put you on earth to do. This week I want us to look at how God wants us to maintain and improve those relationships for His glory . . . and receive blessings as a result!.
Join us Sunday morning as we go to the Word of God for some eternal wisdom.

DON’T MISS THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE! . . . AND BRING A FRIEND

CHILDREN . . . you all know one, or have one, or are related to one … maybe you are one and if not, you certainly were one! As parents, every one of us really wants to be good parents. We want to have strong families.

As Grandparents, relatives, friends and neighbors; we can all have incredible input on children. But the fact is,. . . the pace that we live and the constant pressures of our careers to always produce more and in doing that we often put our families at risk. The questions that we are confronted with are; can we achieve success and build a healthy family at the same time?

Is it possible to raise Faithful and Christlike children in today’s environment and world. How do we protect our children without totally secluding them by removing them from society? Join us Sunday morning for what I really believe can be life-changing information from God’s Word. We will look at some essentials that Children need most.

WHEN WE “FAIL” . . . What does God want us to do?

If you have a TV and watched the news on a regular basis last year (which includes most of us) … you had the dubious opportunity to watch Charlie Sheen go through “rants” about his lifestyle which were punctuated frequently with the word “Winning.” This he said was an attempt to describe  how he felt about what was going on in his life since being fired from his very lucrative TV series. From my point of view, (that of one who has  failed in his life several times … not just talking about geometry here) it seemed to me that he was “Failing” in his attempts to show the world that his life was “great” … and that he didn’t need anyone or anything else.

In this life we all fail at different points and times, however unlike Mr. Sheen I believe we do recognize those times in our lives when we’ve failed. So then, why do our failures impact us the way they do. Why do they haunt us. Does God tell us what to do when we fail? That’s what I want to talk  about and share with you this Sunday . . . see you then.

“I PICK THINGS UP AND PUT THEM DOWN” … part II

It’s easy for us to substitute “busyness” and “accomplishing” this time of year in the place of Worship and celebration. Researchers tell us that 90%of us will spend this time in a frenzy of hurriedness yet we will live this time in memories of the past or concerns of the future.

How can we capture this time and this moment where we can draw closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ without getting involved in the entrapments of the world. We truly live in a time where it is “the world versus the manger.”

Join us Sunday morning as we study Jesus words for choosing what is best.

I look forward to meeting with you then.

Luke 10:41-42

I PICK THINGS UP AND PUT THEM DOWN

This time of year we usually start deviating from the “norms” of life, and as that Big Day approaches (Christmas of course) we sometimes grow more frantic and frazzled! As this change happens, oftentimes our pace and priorities change – new ones replace the old ones. And even though we tell ourselves that it is “just for the season,” things snowball and all of a sudden . . .we begin to realize that we no longer have what Jesus came to give us … peace.

How can we safeguard ourselves against losing the Peace of God at this most joyful of times! Let’s Talk!

John 14:25-27

This Sunday … “SOME QUESTIONS & ANSWERS”

Often times the toughest questions are those we ask ourselves . . . this week we’ll look at some questions Mary had to ask herself - how she dealt with them - and how they apply to us in our journey with the Lord!
As We Gather Together This Sunday . . .
We will celebrate together as we partake of the LORD’S SUPPER
Please begin now to prepare your heart for this time as we come before the Lord.

Whatever you call it – it’s good, nourishing and a blessing to spend time together and enjoy His Blessings
YANKEE GIFT EXCHANGE

All’s fair in Yankee Gift Taking … I mean “Gift Swapping”!

“CAN’T GET NO SATISFACTION …”

It’s difficult in our country, in this economy and in particular this time of year to be “satisfied.” The “Modus Operandi” for this time of year is to create an atmosphere and spirit of “I Want” and an amplified awareness of “I Need!.”
If you pick up the paper today , or this weekend … or check your mail daily (!), you’ll see evidence of the approaching holidays.
  • “After Halloween” closeouts are a bargain.
  • “Black Friday” is imminent . . . all the long anticipated one-day sales event (that we’ve known about for three-four weeks now) will be taking place on November 25th. Some stores will open at 12:00 AM on that day … and this year, we’re in for a special treat of being able to shop on Thanksgiving Day itself! That’s right … not just Kmart this year, but also many other major retailers. I believe Target among several others will be there with open doors to help you “save” and begin your “holidays!”
(Black Friday is now more recognized and anticipated than Thanksgiving … sad. Although still mentioned in the Sports Section for football schedules :O)
  • You’ve already received several pounds of Christmas catalogs, so you know that’s just around the corner . . .
What to do … what to buy . . . so much to do ,,, so much to buy ,,, so little time … so little money … what to do … (etc,)
See you Sunday . . . as we break open God’s word, and learn how to prepare for, celebrate and enjoy the upcoming Hol(y)idays!
