General Description:

Valley Christian Church is an elder-led church that is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and consists of about 250. It is located in a four-season recreational area in the heart of the White Mountains of NH, and is actively seeking a part-time youth pastor (20 hours/week). The role of the Youth Pastor is to seek out the youth (ages 11-18) in the valley and provide for their spiritual needs.

It is the desire of Valley Christian Church that this person be used by God to glorify Him through reaching the lost, teaching and applying the Scriptures in everyday life, modeling Christ’s heart through service to others, and preparing youth to be sent by God into whatever mission field He may have for them.

Qualifications:

• A vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ in all areas of life.
• Meet the criteria found in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and in Titus 1:6-9.
  • (Being divorced within the guidelines allowed by Scripture in Matthew 5:32, 19:3-12, & 1 Corinthians 7, or being single, will not disqualify for this position.)
• Firmly grounded in God’s Word, believing that God’s Word is completely without error and is applicable to all situations in life.
• Must be trustworthy, energetic, and relate well to kids & youth.

• Must have a sense of humor and be physically able to participate in youth functions.
• Must be able to pass a police background check.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Pray for the youth of the valley, youth of Valley Christian Church and the VCC body as a whole.
• Provide Biblical teaching to the youth on a regular basis.
• Plan and provide outreach events.
• Provide Biblical counseling to youth, parents of youth, young couples, and anyone else that God provides the opportunity.
• Engage youth in as many ways as possible either personally or through training adult youth volunteers.
• Lead the youth to build a close, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Encouraging the youth in all areas of spiritual growth.
• Be responsible for the VCC Youth Group website.
